U.S. News ranks Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ online programs

Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ earned high marks on multiple lists when U.S. News & World Report released its Best Online Colleges rankings Feb. 6.

The University of North Georgia (Ä¢¹½´«Ã½) earned high marks on multiple lists when U.S. News & World Report released its rankings Feb. 6.  

Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ ranked fourth among public universities in Georgia on the 2024 list.  

The University of Georgia, University of West Georgia and Kennesaw State University ranked ahead of Ä¢¹½´«Ã½, with Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ ahead of Georgia State University, Columbus State University and Middle Georgia State University.  

Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ also ranked fourth among public universities in Georgia on the list. The university was tabbed seventh among Georgia public universities on the list. Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ was eighth among Georgia public universities on the list.  

U.S. News compiled the rankings based on engagement, expert opinion, services and technologies, faculty credentials and training, student excellence, and peer assessment.  

"We are pleased to receive this recognition," Dr. Chaudron Gille, provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs, said. "Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ has strategically invested in developing quality online degree programs in order to provide opportunities for working adults and learners who are place bound or need flexibility in their schedule to advance their educational and career goals."   

These rankings come on the heels of Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ tying for 17th among public Regional Universities in the South in the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings released Sept. 18. In more specialized lists for public Regional Universities in the South, among Georgia universities, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ was No. 1 on the list of Best Colleges for Veterans; No. 1 for Least Debt, which measures schools whose students graduated carrying the lightest debt loads; and No. 3 on the Best Value Colleges list.  

One of the state's largest universities, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ serves more than 18,000 students across its five campuses in Blue Ridge, Cumming, Dahlonega, Gainesville, and Oconee County, and online. Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ offers more than 100 programs of study, including certificates, associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and doctoral programs.
